Arts Emergency

Bernadette Kinsella

I wanted to be an Architect from the age of 9, but had no architectural connections in my family. So when I was 13 I got out the yellow pages and rang every Architect in my area to find out what I needed to do. Most of them were helpful! These days access to information is easy, but access topeople is much more difficult, I am accutely aware how difficult it would be today for me to get work experience and support I needed without any copnnections in the industry. What a waste of talent there must be sitting out there trying to get in! I studied at the Welsh School of Architecture and sometimes help out with crits there. my passion is for places people live, and how we can influence the human experience in a positive , sustainable way in the environment most precious to them – their home.
