I went to Uni at 26 because I couldn’t believe I knew everything and wanted to challenge myself. I studied theology and learned how to read – read with my eyes open, read with questions, read with thought. I used to be a youth worker, and I know how many exciting ideas and dreams young people have. I don’t think having time to learn and think should be restricted by finance. I also know that the brilliant, engaged and engaging tutors I had at college were influential in my having the confidence to continuing studying (and now I nearly get to be called Dr!), so thats why I’m volunteering.
