I always knew that I wanted to work in the arts from a young age. College was the time when my interest was growing at a rapid rate and I knew I wanted to go and complete an arts degree. It was difficult with an unstable family background to get the support I needed to move to University to do an Art History degree, but with the help of my Art
Foundation tutor and the friends I had met on the course, I moved and have been living in Manchester ever since!
Arts Emergency is a unique and exciting project that is growing with more and more support each day. I chose to volunteer because as an artist, art historian and advocator of community engagement, I would love to give back to students that are in a similar situation that I was in during my high school and college years.
