Arts Emergency

Emma Mason

I did my BA in English Literature and MA in Critical and Cultural Theory at Cardiff University; and my PhD on nineteenth-century poetry and religion at Warwick University; & then had a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship at Corpus Christi, Oxford. I also studied at the University of Madison Wisconsin for a year, and was a visiting fellow at the Huntington Library in California. I got a job back at Warwick after Oxford and the US, and now teach on the English Literature and Philosophy and Literature programs there. As a teenager I went to a not great comprehensive school in the Midlands, but had a couple of brilliant teachers that encouraged me to apply to university and am happy to help anyone else in the same position. My research is mainly concerned with poetry, religion (Christianity and Buddhism), philosophy and ecology, but I’m also interested in popular science and how it engages with and represents religion.
