I’m currently working as an Editorial Manager for a health charity, managing a busy team of editors and copywriters. Before this I worked in magazine journalism (for a wedding magazine!), and before this did a range of admin jobs waiting for my arts career break!
I did English Literature and Language at Oxford University, and I really wanted to find a creative career, where I could write and edit for a living. Lots of people told me I wouldn’t get into the industries I’ve worked in, and to give up and do a ‘proper job’.
That’s why I’ve volunteered with Arts Emergency – to give you a little boost if you’re being told an arts profession will never happen for you. And also to share any useful advice or info I might have.
