I always knew I wanted to be a teacher (I used to make my big sister sit for hours and pretend to be every child in a class of 30!). My passion for English came later, when I was lucky enough to have an incredible secondary school teacher who ignited my passion for the subject. But having reached university, I went through a period of doubt; I took a job as a youth worker in a school, knowing it would ‘make or break’ my desire to teach. It made it, and I qualified in July. I haven’t regretted the decision for a moment!
