Arts Emergency

Will Hoyles

Head of Communications

I followed my passion for film to a uni which ended up giving me an amazing experience and loads of soft-skills but nothing directly employable and no real direction. After I decided I wanted to work in the charity sector I worked rubbish office jobs and some awful temp work and interned (I was lucky enough to be able to afford it) and got my foot in the door and did whatever I could in those places before finding my niche in communications.

I see how much harder it is for study leavers even than it was 10 years ago and while I had no connections I had enough cash to support myself while working for free. I want to be the connections, show people the short cuts and help them show that their skills from an arts degree can be applied in all sorts of indirect ways that employers love.
