Recruit our Young Community

At Arts Emergency, we help organisations recruit from our 18-25 year olds all year round. These paid opportunities are solely advertised in the monthly Young Community newsletter.

What we do

Create bespoke paid opportunities

If you want to set up a bespoke paid placement/opportunitiy with us, for example commissions, freelance opportunities, internships, permanent contracts or creative briefs, we would love to hear more!

If you want to work with us to recruit from our pool of young people we will ask you to:

  • get in touch with us at least 2-3 months before you intend to have a young person in post
  • read and agree to our Code of Conduct for Organisations
  • provide an opportunity where the pay is at least your area's Real Living Wage or the average freelance rate for your industry
  • send us a job description or brief with the salary, deadline and location clearly stated
  • work with us to create an application process that is accessible
  • keep the application window to a minimum of 3 weeks
  • let us know what pastoral care will be in place
  • email the rejected applicants and offer short feedback

If you have already selected a young person from Arts Emergency who would like to hire, we ask you to:

  • get in touch with us at least 1 week before you intend to have a young person in post
  • read and agree to our Code of Conduct for Organisations
  • provide an opportunity where the pay is at least your area's Real Living Wage or the average freelance rate for your industry

Want to set up a paid bespoke opportunity? Complete the form at the bottom of this page.

Advertise open opportunities via our Newsletter

Our Young Community newsletter goes out to over 1000 (18-25 years old) young people on the 1st of every month. If you want to advertise a paid opportunity, we will ask you to send us a job description or brief. It’s really important that these are written in an accessible way, with the salary, deadline and location clearly stated. Read our blog with detailed guidance on how to write a good job description.

We will only advertise roles that are at least your area’s Living Wage or the average freelance rate for your industry. Consult the Living Wage website for their current rates. We won’t advertise roles where the salary is undisclosed.

Our newsletter is sent out on the 1st of every month. Please make sure you have sent us your opportunity by the 27th of each month otherwise we can’t guarantee it will be included.

If you have a paid opportunity to share, please visit the Share an Opportunity page
